This unique development aspires to bring a new life to the 6-story heritage building. The site sits over the top of 4 major rail tunnels, creating additional challenges for the design team. This included the need for sound and vibration treatment to the basement structure, which was designed to span over the tunnels.
Embelton supplied 24 pre-compressed lateral bearings and 24 vertically loaded bearings with static deflection of 7-9mm under load. Individual testing of each bearing was conducted before installation, with compliance testing after the building was completed confirming a close correlation with the predicted noise levels.
